Is Reiki safe for Christians?
According to the oral tradition MIKAO USUI was a Monk born in Japan in the 19th century. After years of research he discovered the secret of healing, calling it REIKI. Read more about

Because Reiki is a laying on of hands healing technique similar to what Jesus practiced, it is especially appealing to many Christians who suddenly find themselves cast in a negative light from fellow believers who have decided that it is a cult. Indeed, there are some Reiki practitioners who are pagan, hence the worry from Christians.
First of all, let's look at the meaning of the word - reiki. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words; Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy."
The most common definition is “Divinely directed life force energy.”
"Reiki is a natural healing technique allowing the energy of love to flow from the Divine Source through one human being on behalf of another living being. When the vibrational energy of our lives becomes blocked or restricted, Reiki, as the fundamental vibration of life, can work to restore its natural flow and vibrancy, facilitating health and well-being. Whether healing is needed on the physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual level, it is the nature of Reiki to flow to where it is needed and to facilitate healing according the person’s highest good."

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe or not believe, in order to learn and use Reiki.
Reiki has no leader. Practitioners can practice anyway they want and are not controlled by anyone.
Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not..
Reiki is simply the spiritual energy of a person which comes from God.
While there are some who use symbols, it is not required. Symbols are basically harmless though, and only have power if you give it to them. I feel power in the crucifix, because of my beliefs.
While there are some who claim to be influenced by their spirit guide, this is not part of the original form of Reiki.
God's angels can help heal and also provide guidance even when you are not aware of their presence. It is also possible to call on God directly and especially Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit to be present and provide healing energy directly from them.
There are many Pastors, Nuns and Priests that practice Reiki. You can read one of their testimonies by clicking here, which will open in a new window for you.
